Holiday Pastels

19 Aug 2014

Photos by Katie Field

Pastel colours seem to have been ever creeping into my S/S wardrobe this year as you may be able to tell from the photos above. Just maybe.

I love how bright and summery they make you feel regardless of the miserable weather we've been having recently. What happened to summer eh? My dress is from Joy, a payday treat for myself a few months ago and I'm still having a love affair with it. It makes me feel like an American Ice Cream seller (not something I thought I'd aspire to be, but fashion wise I'm loving that career choice). My cardigan was a bargain sale purchase from Urban Outfitters a year or so ago that is a staple regardless of the season. It goes with so many different outfits and really is the comfiest thing.

Shoes wise, these are another sale item that I picked up last year at Topshop. They've come out quite purple in the photo, but they are in fact quite a dusty pink. They remind me of shoes I used to wear as a child and make me feel like I should be frolicking somewhere. Finally my bag was a Birthday gift from Topshop, its one of those bags that I would never pick myself citing it as impractical due to its hue. But actually, its one of my most used bags I own and I love that its not just a common neutral colour.

Whats your take on pastel fashion?

Anniversary OOTD.

28 Sept 2013

Last Thursday was my two year anniversary with my man, Craig :) We spent the day at Hampton Court Palace and took a picnic with us. The sun decided to come and celebrate too, and it was lovely and sunny all day! We had a really fun time wandering around the palace together, and stopped for tea and cake too! We also conquered the maze, which a lot of other couples seemed to struggle with!? We ended the day back in Central London at Jamie Oliver's restaurant Barbecoa which was AMAZING. We had such a brilliant meal, with a beautiful view of St. Paul's Cathedral and the tastiest red wine we've ever had. I won't divulge quite how much wine we drunk....ahem.

It was genuinely one of my favourite days though and I thought I'd share with you what I wore :) I feel like my obsession with Topshop is slightly evident in this outfit...oops! My dress is a recent Topshop purchase, but I absolutely love it!! I love tea dress styles, and I love how the pattern is slightly more Autumnal. My shoes (also Topshop!) are probably my favourite shoes I bought this summer. I love the clog style, and although they look rather high they're actually super comfy. Especially with tights on! Finally my H&M bag, is my most loved bag of the moment. I always carry a million more things than I need, so this bag suits me perfectly. I think it looks a lot more expensive than it actually is too! I actually kept my make-up really simple for the day, but when the evening and dinner time came around I added my Bourjois Colour Boost Lip Balm in Red Sunrise.

Neither of us had been to Hampton Court since we were little, so it was really fun to walk around as adults. The gardens were beautiful too! If your looking for a day out I definitely recommend it :)

A Primark OOTD

27 Aug 2013

So this isn't exactly a current OOTD as this picture is from my holiday about a month ago! But I've been meaning to share this Primark dress with you forever! I feel like Primark have been on a serious winning streak at the moment with a load of really cute dresses in stock. This red flower number is a definite favourite, I don't think it looks 'primark' at all! So many friends have been shocked at how cheap it was.

You can still buy the dress on ASOS here (so loving that they're stocking some Primark items now!) although there is only a few sizes left - the dress has literally been selling out everywhere!

I didn't pair the dress with any major accessories as its quite a bold print on its own, and my shoes are just some cute grey pumps from H&M. You can't seem to buy the shoes in grey anymore, but they sell them in black, blue, white and coral red here.

Do go and check out Primark at the moment if your on the hunt for some new cute dresses - I want to try and drag out my summer gear as much as I can too. I refuse to accept that it'll soon 'technically' be autumn!

Have you found any amazing Primark bargains recently? :)

Guess what I got?!

28 Dec 2012

So I got a fancy pants new camera (Nikon D5100 if you're wondering!) for Christmas! I've wanted a DSLR for yonks, and as I've never been able to afford one myself I asked if I could pay half towards it and have it as a christmas present! Winning idea if I do say so myself! :) So you can expect a lot nicer photos on my blog from now on!

I've got a few make-up review posts lined up for the near future, but I thought I'd just share with you a few snippets from my Christmas! I hope you all had a wonderful time! :)

OOTD | Casual Office Attire.

22 Nov 2012

Outfit Of The Day posts have always been something I enjoy reading on other peoples blogs, so I thought I'd have a crack at it myself :) I don't profess to be a trendsetter, but I do really love fashion and I love trying out new outfits! :)

At the moment I'm an Intern in the Academy Music Group press office! Everyone dresses really casually, jeans and hoodies alot of the time! Now, I've never been relaxed in my attitude towards clothes, I 'don't do casual'. Not because I don't want to! But I just find it really hard to pull off the effortless chic look! So naturally, working at the office has been an issue for me fashion wise!

So, here is my attempt from the beginning of this week at casual office wear! How'd you think I did? haha

Burgundy Jumper - Topshop, Denim Shirt - Urban Outfitters, Black Jeans - Red Herring, Black Brogues - New Look, Clock Necklace - Hannah Makes Things

I hope you've all had a good week and haven't been caught up in too much flooding (if you're in the UK)! I'm going to stay with my boyfriend this weekend, I haven't seen him in a month, so I'm more than abit excited! :D I do have a Christmassy themed post planned for this Sunday (exactly a month till the big day! :O!) though so stay tuned for that! :)

My good thought of the day, actually comes from watching The Holiday recently! "Be the leading lady of your own life" I really like that sentiment :)

Have a lovely weekend :)
