Love At First Use. #2

7 Jan 2014

I posted the first 'Love At First Use' post a couple of weeks ago, and as it seemed to go down really well I thought I'd do another! :) This time around I have one Christmas present to share and two skincare products! :)

First up is the Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish, a firm favorite in the blogging community. I've been using and loving the No. 7 Hot Cloth Cleanser for many months now, but as it recently run out and I was in need of buying more muslin cloths after my Dad decided to use mine to clean up his grouting work on our bathroom tiles....don't ask. I decided to finally try the famed Cleanse and Polish as I could buy the Starter Kit which came with two cloths! Obviously, surprise surprise - I bloody love it. The cream feels so luxurious on my skin and smells amazing too! I'm left with soft clear skin and I love how fresh and clean I feel too. Also, I love the size of the muslin cloths, they're a lot larger than most you can buy!

Secondly, is the rightfully named 'Greatest Scrub of All' by Soap and Glory. I'm a big lover of Soap and Glory products and this is definitely the best face wash I've tried in a long time. Although this has beads in that scrub your skin, its not painful like so many facial scrubs, it just gives a pleasant tingle instead. Weirdly, I describe this as if its a toothpaste for the face. It smells really minty, is white in colour and leaves me feeling thoroughly scrubbed! Possibly not the best analogy, but I love it.

Lastly, is the Nars At First Sight Palette. This was a Christmas present from my mum and dad, and I literally love it. I've wanted a Nars Palette for so long, so to actually have one in my possession is super exciting! The blush is Deep Throat, and the bronzer the famed Laguna. Both are so beautiful on the skin, I've worn them practically every day since I got this! The eyeshadows are so pigmented and creamy and they blend so well. You can't buy any of the eyeshadows individually, but they all come from duo's. From Top Left, to Bottom Right they are from: All About Eve, Nouveau Monde, Bellissima and Cordura (II). The palette is so handy for travelling, especially with the giant mirror. Its Love.

What products are you obsessed with at the moment? :)

My (Never Gonna Happen!) Christmas Wishlist.

29 Nov 2013

I quite literally am always lusting over something and the thought of Christmas sends my brain into overdrive. My brain also seems to have ratherrr expensive taste, which sadly doesn't correspond with the reality of my bank account. So, instead of showing you the delightful things I've bought, I am instead showing you a wishlist of items that I can only hope to have in my dreams! And what a wonderful dream it would be!

My ultimate Designer handbag lust is the Micheal Kors Selma Satchel. However this above is quite literally the cutest thing ever as it is essentially a mini version! Entitled the Selma Studded Messenger Bag (1), it is firmly placed in my dream accessories drawer. I'm definitely a 'big' bag lover, so when it comes to evening bags I pretty much always use the same boring satchel so I'd absolutely loveeee to have this for the evenings! With such a neutral colour it'd look lovely with so many outfits and the studs give it a really good edge.

My laptop has been dead for a while and the past few months I've been borrowing stealing my Mum's. I so want my own laptop back, and I'd absolutely love a Macbook (2) to take its place! They are just the best in my eyes, and Windows just doesn't quite cut it anymore!

Any Made In Chelsea fans reading?? If so you might recognise the beautiful outfit as one of Sophie Hermann's creations. She's not a regular on MIC, but a firm friend of proper poshies Mark Francis and Victoria. She wore this outfit in a recent episode and I literally fell in love!! Its actually a bodysuit and skirt (3) together, but I think its beautiful. The structured neckline and padded statement shoulders pairs so well with the skater style skirt. The burgundy colour is so festive too!

One of my favourite designers ever ever is Rob Ryan. All his creations are so beautiful and whimsical, so when I saw that'd he collaborated with Tatty Devine I was seriously excited. I couldn't choose between these two rings as my favourite piece so I included them both. They're both 18-carot rose gold plated rings (4) with beautifully intricate designs. The Forever Love ring is such a lovely message and the Crown of Hearts ring reminds me of a fairytale crown. I absolutely adore them!!

Oh Laura Mercier. Be still my beating heart! What I would give to buy all of the things from the brand, but suffice to say its all a tadge too expensive at the moment! I've heard so much about the Body Souffles (5) that I couldn't not include them on my list! Just the word Souffle sounds invigorating and moisturising. I'd love to try the Créme de Pistache scent.

Lastly, the Nars At First Sight palette. One day I will own a Nars palette, but for now I shall just lust after them! The combination of shades in this palette is just so lovely, I know I'd get so much use out of it. Its also just so great for travelling, which is really handy as I spend a few nights a week at my boyfriends.

What 's on your 'never gonna happen' wishlist?? :)

A Beauty Lovers Birthday.

20 Apr 2013

My baby cousin Lilia helped me blow out my candles :)
Annoying middle parting - darn you!
So I am a very lucky lady :) It was my Birthday this week and my sister made me this amazing cake!! Aside from tasting superr yummy (coffee and chocolate with chocolate frosting - don't ask about the calories!) it just looks incredible! And, as it was completely make-up related - I thought you lovely readers might like a peek :) I think the brushes are my favourite - they just look so realistic!

Review | NARS Isolde Duo

17 Apr 2013

Please ignore my unkempt brows!

The other day I was a naughty girl and I popped my NARS cherry. It was a brilliant moment and I have no regrets. (My bank balance might have something to say about it though.)

I've revered NARS for a while now, but just never decided on my perfect purchase - until I spotted the Isolde eyeshadow duo. I'd seen so many brilliant reviews of it, and with NARS I definitely knew I wanted one of their eyeshadows in my collection as they are just so beautiful. Isolde seemed the perfect shades that I could wear from day to night, so I popped along to Selfridges and had a little splurge.

Even the packaging with NARS is lovely; although I completely get what everyone says about the black case getting dirty really easily. Bit annoying, but its hardly going to stop me buying more NARS products! The eyeshadow itself is just so lovely, quite shimmery but not in a disco ball way and SO super pigmented. You really don't need to use a lot of product, which definitely helps justify the price tag!

I've been enjoying using the lighter shade all over the lid with the darker shade in the crease and outer corners of my eye. I find the MAC 217 is a really great brush to use for this - also a recent purchase which I'm loving! I haven't worn the shadow with a primer yet, and to be honest I don't think I'll ever need to. It doesn't crease on me at all and quite literally stays put all day. Brilliant shadow to use for a day out that rolls into the evening.

The shade is a really pretty warm coppery gold, and I think it would really compliment most complexions. The actual texture of the shadow is super soft and light - (it coats your brush with only the lightest dab into the pan, so be careful you don't coat your brush too much) making blending the product really easy.

I really love that the shadow is a duo, it feels better value for money and its really handy having two complimenting shades together. Definitely a go-to for travelling and quick looks in the morning. The only bad thing I could say about the product is that its made me want more NARS products!! I mean really, why are they so pretty?

Have you got any suggestions for NARS products for me? I might create a wishlist to curb the spending...;)

Review | Sleek Rose Gold Blush

6 Apr 2013

Just look at it. Now look again. Its SO pretty. I literally am a tiny bit in love with this shade. I've totally got on the Rose Gold bandwagon, but only really with jewellery. It hadn't really occurred to me that my love for the colour could transfer into my love for make-up. It was winning times for me in Superdrug when I happened on this lovely blush though!

I've always heard good things about Sleek blushes and I do really like their eye-shadows so as soon as I set my eyes on this beauty I knew it had to come home with me. Also at £4.49 a pop, it was hardly rocket science.

I know I always talk about this, and in reality packaging really doesn't matter - buttt I do really like the packaging. It reminds me of NARS with the little black case, and I think it makes the products look a lot classier than the price they are.

The pigmentation of the blush is really good, you don't need a lot of product as it really does go a long way. It can look quite shimmery when you swatch it, but when blended out on your cheeks its not so apparent making it a great everyday blush. I think it gives a really radiant glow and I just really love it. I've worn it every day since I bought it and its definitely in my top 5 favourite blushes already.

Have you tried Sleek blushes? Or hopped onto the Rose Gold bandwagon? Let me know :)
