10 May 2014

L-R: Selfie time, Yummy cakes made by Katie, Pimms, Moving day, Pie and Afternoon Tea.
This week has been full of packing, food and sun!! I've had rather a delightful week, and as I sit here writing this in my new flat I feel right at home. :)

1. Last Saturday I went to my very first Hen Do!! Craig's brother is getting married in July so I went along to his fiancé's do! We had afternoon tea at westminster abbey which was really lovely, we were in a sort of atrium which was really pretty! The scones were soo good too and for 20 quid with a glass of prosecco I thought it was pretty damn good! :) We then went to Udderbelly on the Southbank for Pimm's and ended up with dinner at an amazing Turkish restaurant!

2. Monday was moving day! It was surprisingly unstressful contrary to what my mum was expecting I think! But it was a good day of unpacking finished with a yummy dinner made by Joe and a hella lot of pimms. :)

3. Finally, I have to give a shoutout to Craig and the amazing pie he made last night! It was a veggie layer pie - lentils, aubergine, ricotta and lots of other yummy veg. It was literally so good and looked amazing in real life! My picture almost makes it look like a humoungous toastie don't you think? :)

Well that's my week! I'm writing this in a slight rush as I need to leave to catch a train! But I hope you all have a wonderful weekend :)

Clockwise From Left: Ikea planning with Craig, Latte from Monmouth ♥, Craig very excited by the first frame up in our room, tasty dinner with Craig and the unique coffee making process in Monmouth.
This week I have literally taken 5 photos. Just 5! I'm usually so snap happy so I'm not entirely sure what was wrong with me! I have had a rather busy yet lovely week though!

1. On Saturday my best buddy Amy came over, and we with the help of Craig made my famous Chocolate and Peanut Butter Pie! Craig has been bigging this up to Amy for ages and I was worried he'd over hyped it! But it definitely didn't disappoint! The only problem is now that I want it again!!

2. On Sunday myself, Katie, Craig and my Mum went to Ikea which is alwaysss a treat. Me and Craig got a few exciting things for the flat. But basically I just enjoyed walking round the shop! Homeware is literally one of my favourite things to buy - its like at some point in your twenties a home-maker is suddenly awakened in you and you find yourself getting far too excited about chopping boards and making comments like 'IKEA's Utensil selection wasn't very good today!' ....oh dear.

3. Finally, a coffee related highlight! I work in London Bridge which means Monmouth Coffee Company is within daily reach. Monmouth seriously do make the best coffee and I've recently experienced just how amazing their brownies are too! A definite must if you're in the area :)

So that's my week! How's yours been? :)

L-R: Shameless Selfie, My Roberts radio ♥, Les Mis at the Oliviers, Shameless Selfie #2, Carving the Butt Chicken, Birthday Cake No.1 from Mum, Birthday Pie lunch, Birthday Cake No.2 from Craig, Birthday Cards, Chocolate & Macadamia Pie, Tea Cosy made by Amy, Me and the best girl.
This week has been a super fun one ending in a lovely long bank holiday weekend! I turned 23, had two cakes made for me (and I have another on the way - I'm being spoilt!) and briefly appeared on tv! And when I say briefly I mean literal seconds - but it still counts as a claim to fame!! Right??

Narrowing it all down is pretty tricky, but here are my three highlights:

1. Last Sunday Craig and myself hot-footed it down to Covent Garden to watch the live streaming of the Olivier Awards. We did feel slightly like the poor commoners who weren't actually allowed in the party, but it was fun regardless! They had a stage set up and had some live performances before the actual awards ceremony took place which were really good. Les Miserables and Wicked being a particular highlight! Mylene Klass and Micheal Xavier were hosting the stage, and then did some live 'links' to the awards show about three people away from us in the crowd! Mylene really did look as pretty in real life, but she also looked a lot older! It was super exciting to be on TV though, even if it was for a matter of about 5 seconds!

2. On Thursday I turned 23 and although I spent the day at work I still had a really good day! Craig bought me a Roberts Radio in my favourite colour which I've been lusting over for FOREVER. It was literally so so lovely of him, so thank youuuu again if you're reading which I doubt you areee. haha My work colleagues bought some lovely treats for us all to share, and I got home to find mum had made me a super tasty ginger cake!

3. Finally, last night my lovely best friend Amy came with me to the boys flat and Joe made us Butt Chicken - which if you've never heard of before sounds BEYOND odd. But, its essentially a way of roasting a chicken on a beer can. Yep, still sounds odd right? Google it and you'll know what I mean! It was superr yum anyway and we then enjoyed copious amounts of alcohol and a Lemon Drizzle cake made by Craig which was soo good. I also need to mention that one of my presents from Amy was an amazing tea cosy that she MADE herself!!! Like actually knitted it! I will literally treasure it for ever. :) A lovely night all in all <3 p="">
I still have more birthday celebrations to go this weekend! But you'll have to wait for next weeks highlights to hear about them ;)

I hope you're all having a delightful long weekend!

L-R: Beer for two at Union Jacks, FOTD, Lunchtime View, Super tasty food at Union Jacks, New York recipe book that I REALLY want, the Golden Hinde Ship, Cheesecake Brownies, Pretty work.
This week has been a really good one and I think the Sun being out in full force has definitely helped that! I started my new job, had a yummy meal with Craig and made Cheesecake Brownies. Winning if I do say so myself!

My three highlights are:

1. Mothers Day last Sunday was spent with my whole family having a yummy mezze style lunch at my sisters flat. Its always lovely when we get a chance to all spend time together, and Katie made a SUPER yummy Lemon Victoria Sponge too!

2. On Monday me and Craig went to Union Jacks in Covent Garden and had a super yummy late lunch. I was super HANGRY by the time we ate so I was glad that it was worth it! I went for the very traditional choice of Fish and Chips which were lovely buttt I had total menu choice envy because Craig's pizza was AMAZING. I want to go back purely to have it myself! We didn't have pudding, but I did see that you could have Earl Grey and Biscuits ice cream! Say whaa? I totally want to try that too.

3. Finally, I started my new job this week which was superr exciting!! What I also loved was working near the Thames means that I have some lovely lunchtime spots to choose from. It's been beautifully sunny all week, so it's been really nice to eat my lunch with a pretty view to boot.

What's been your favourite part of your week?

29 Mar 2014

L-R: Birthday Cake, Photostrips, Birthday Selfie, Monmouth Coffee, Birthday Boy, Monmouth, Marble Cakes, Moroccan Chicken Tagine, Aubergine Amazing-ness, Cake!, Les Mis.
This week has been one of my best weeks in a very long time. :) It was my favourite boys Birthday, I went to the theatre and most importantly I had a SUCCESSFUL job interview! All of the excitement - it was hard to choose three highlights!

But here they are:

1. As an avid baker, Birthday Cakes are simultaneously really exciting to create and really stressful as the perfectionist inside me comes to play. I was pretty happy with Craig's cake though. I attempted the 'petal technique' which is ALL over Pinterest and it actually worked! I've got a full post about it tomorrow, so check back if you're interested :)

2. For Craig's birthday dinner me and our best friend Joe made a literally amazing feast. Though I can't take full credit, as in reality I was Joe's sous chef! We made a morrocan chicken tagine with rice and an aubergine side dish. The pictures above really don't do it all justice which is rather annoying, becuase it was soo tasty. The aubergine was so soft, and the chicken literally fell off the bone. So damn good.

3. Finally and most importantly for me, is something I haven't really spoken about at all on the blog but for some time now I have been out of work. But this week after many many interviews I've finally been given the one yes that I needed and I start work next week in an industry which really excites me! YAY. I am literally beyond happy. :)

So thats my week, I hope you've all had a delightful week too and are now enjoying the beaut weather this weekend!

L-R: Me and the Boy, Afternoon Tea in Battle, Katie at tea, Saturday morning with the Boy, Homemade Pizza, Nespresso Latte, Deciding on outfits, Prawn Salad, London in the sun, Bunch of Carrots Lush Bubble Bar, Garden in the sun, Camber Sands, Me, Chips!
This week the sun has been out in full force and putting a smile on my face. I even managed to escape to the beach for the day! Lets hope its here to stay because I am definitely bored of the cold now!!

My three highlights are:

1. This week Craig bought a Nespresso machine and I've been all over the coffee. He also has a milk frother with it, which makes amazing lattes! Win! I might need to go on a coffee detox soon though...!

2. I've had some really yummy food this week - that counts as a highlight right? From prawn salads, home-made pizzas and a super yummy cream tea! I'm a foodie at heart so I can't not talk about the food in my life :).

3. Finally, yesterday me and Katie drove to Camber Sands, a beach that we used to spend alot of our childhood summers at. It was SO windy though, and we left literally covered in sand!! I even had to take off my tights in the car to get the sand out of them! haha It was so lovely to go back there though, and it was a beautifully sunny day. We had the full British experience and had chips in a seafront cafe, with copious amounts of salt and vinegar! We also went to the town of Battle, and went to a gorgeous medieval looking café. I had a cream tea and Katie had tea and crumpets - all hand-made and super tasty! A lovely day out all in all <3 .="" nbsp="" p="">

I hope you've all had a lovely week! :)

L-R: Android Birthday Cake for Joe, Trying on summer dresses in Urban Outfitters, Selfie #1, The biggest pot of Hot Chocolate ever,  Selfie #2, Finding my spare pair of glasses equals Selfie #3, Trying on new skirts - is it for me??
So this week has apparently been a very vain, selfie induced week as near enough all the pictures I had on my phone were of my face. I would say I'm embarrassed, but hey everyone loves a good selfie nowadays right? Right??

My three highlights this week are:

1. Last Saturday my best friend came home for the weekend and we spent the evening at the boys flat drinking and catching up! She lives in Southampton now so I don't get to see her half as much as I'd like, so it was really nice to spend the evening with her. We had tacos's too, which were sooo hard to eat but super tasty!!

2. On Sunday me and Craig spent the majority of the day baking an 'android' birthday cake for Joe! It was hardly the best cake we'd ever made, but it was well received and it was fun to spend the day baking together! Especially with the beautiful sun shining through the flat. :)

3. Finally, a beauty related highlight! To profess my love for the Revlon Matte Balm in Striking. Its such a beautiful shade for the sunny weather we've had this week, and the formula is amazing. New love! <3 nbsp="" p="">

I hope you've all had a wonderful week and have been enjoying the sun while its out!

L-R: Tanya Burr New York Night nails, Mums pizza dough,  Beaut view from the flat, Monday morning face, St. Pauls looking stunning, the London Eye just peeking out, Night time face, Dinner in the new flat, Mums super tasty pizza, Cake and Coffee in Starbucks, Craig hand in paw with Millie.
This week has been suchhh a tiring one. I slept in so late this morning, without even waking up once! I definitely needed the rest!! This week has seen me attempt to be a little healthier (minus the cake and pizza above..ahem..) and do a hella lot of walking.

My three highlights are:

1. Firstly, I won £50 on the Premium Bonds this week! I literally never win, so this made me very happy indeed! I've got to wait for the cheque to come in the post, but I may have to treat myself to something with my winnings :)

2. Craig and Joe moved into the new flat on Wednesday which was superrrr exiting! I stayed over the first night to help them settle in, and we had a lovely first dinner together there! The view from the flat is just awesome too, looking over Canary Wharf and the O2 to name a few.

3. Finally, mum decided to handmake pizza for dinner this week, including the dough! It was a potato, rosemary, brocolli and mozzarella pizza and it was SO tasty!! I literally devoured it! Mum was seriously proud of her dough too - pro baker!!

So that's my highlights! How've your weeks been?

22 Feb 2014

L-R: Weekday Selfie, Trying out Tanya Burr Little Duck polish, First read of Blogosphere magazine, Lemon Cream Gingernut Pie, IKEA trip, IKEA decor inspiration, Chocolate and Peanut Butter Pie, Selfridges Display, Modern Family loving.
This week has been a good'un for me. Quite a few new and exciting things happened, paired with a new affinity for making american style pie and a trip to Ikea! I also met up with some old uni friends and put the world to rights over a G&T. Bliss.

Here's my three highlights:

1. IKEA trips have always been something I got far too excited by, and this weeks trip with Craig was even more exciting than usual as this time it was for OUR FLAT. I have briefly mentioned before that in the coming months I will eventually be moving in with Craig and two of our friends which is superrr exciting! We had the exciting task of buying a duvet together which was actually rather stressful what with the Tog system! But strolling round IKEA planning our room decor most definitely made up for it. :)

2. American pie, (food not the film!) is not really something I've dabbled in before but this week I've ended up making two! Both super easy and super tasty!! I love it when a new bake turns out well, its such a good feeling. The first pie was a Chocolate and Peanut Butter combo (recipe up tomorrow!) and the second a Lemon Cream Gingernut. Yum yum yum.

3. Finally, me and Craig met up with our old Uni friends Grace and Phil this week while they were down in London. I don't think I'd seen them in about a year so it was really lovely to see them and have a good old catch up. Reminiscing about Uni life is one of my favourite pastimes too, so it was lovely to chat about it with them.

I hope you've all had a wonderful week! :)

Weekly Highlights. #13

15 Feb 2014

This week has been full of god-awful weather so most of the pictures I've taken have consisted of food indoors! I'm so ready for spring/summer now!! This week I got my hands on a few Tanya Burr products, and I'm already in love with the 'Little Duck' nail polish! I also got sent the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ to try after my review of the original Effaclar Duo which was exciting! :)

My three highlights are:

1. Last Sunday I spent the day with my mum and sister. We went for a walk near Leatherhead and saw some of the awful flooding firsthand! We then bought a few bits from Waitrose for lunch and had a good old chat. It's nice to just have relaxed family days like this :)

2. A peculiar highlight, but this week I think I made the best Caramelised Red Onion gravy I've ever made. I do love a good meal of bangers and mash, but for me its all about the gravy so I was particularly pleased with this effort!

3. Finally, I've really been loving the Winter Olympics that have started this week! I can't stop watching it and suddenly I'm having thoughts of becoming a snowboarder!? Not sure that'll ever happen, but I do enjoy watching the crazy flips and tricks that the Olympian's take on!

I hope you've all had a lovely week! :)

L-R: Craig making cat friends, Street Feast, Homemade American Biscuits, Craig & Me at Street Feast, Advice from Katie, Craig & Me on the Skyline, Taco's at Street Feast, BoxPark in Shoreditch, Emirates Skyline, Joe's doggy Millie loving my hat, Post from Katie.
This week has had its ups and downs for me and I can't say I've been happy for the majority of the days! More than ever this has made me appreciate my highlights post to remind me of the lovely things I've done this week. And the lovely food I've eaten....I think I may genuinely be a foodaholic!!

My highlights are:

1. Last Saturday myself, Craig and our friends Joe and Will went to Hawker House Street Feast in Shoreditch. This is an annual event that runs for about 10 weeks, in an old warehouse. There are loads of different food and drink stalls inside, all of amazing quality making you want to try everything in sight! We begun the night with a variety of different tacos before taking a pit-stop for a Camden brewed beer. I then went for Seychelle's cuisine and had a fish wrap that was SO good but oh my days spicy!! We then shared a bottle of Red, before I had doughnut balls coated in cinnamon sugar with warm salted caramel sauce and chopped walnuts. Yep. The boys ate so much more, like an amazing pulled pork brioche bun and the best fried chicken burger everr. The food stalls differ every week making sure there's something for everyone! If you get a chance I seriously recommend going! :)

2. Second, is a more sentimental highlight and simply recieving a package from my sister in the post to cheer me up. She always has the best advice, and knows how to put a smile on my face  with sweets from my childhood like Wham bars and Dib Dab's! <3 p="">

3. Finally I had a lovely day with Craig this week on the only day it was sunny! Woo! We had a lovely coffee, mooched around Shoreditch and decided to take a trip on the Emirates Skyline. Relaxed days with Craig are my favourite kind of days. <3 p="">

What've been your highlights this week? :)

1 Feb 2014

L-R: Millie the gorgeous Labradoodle, Tasty treats from Borough Market, Lunch @ Joe's Southern Grill, Katie in Le Pain, Beautiful view of St.Pauls, Baking Hearts, Homemade Muffins, FOTN, Engagement Present Biscuits, Caramel bubbling, Homemade cookies at Katie's
Last week I mentioned that I was in a food coma after all the food I'd eaten in the week. After that I had planned to have a 'clean' week and purge my poor body of all the sugar I'd consumed! Looking at the pictures above I think its safe to say I failed in that mission. Next week?? ;)

My three highlights are:

1. Last Saturday I went to my friend Emma's engagement party! Emma is now my oldest friend as we first met back in year 7, a horrific 12 years ago now! :S It was a really lovely evening catching up with old friends and was so nice to see how happy Emma and her fiancé are! The wedding cake shaped biscuits above were my present to them both, and the recipe will be up on the blog soon! :)

2. On Thursday me and my sister went to see The Light Princess at the National. I'd already seen it a few weeks ago and fell in LOVE with it and I knew she would too! It finishes tomorrow, which fills me with heartbreak! It really is one of the best productions I've ever seen. It'll be a crime if it doesn't transfer to the West End. Before that we also had a super yummy dinner at one of my favourite restaurants Le Pain Quotidien.

3. Finally, it's been lovely to spend so much time with my sister this week. We're both busy people and we don't see as much of each other as I'd like. So this week has been a lovely change, even if we do egg eachother on to eat FAR too much cake..oops!

I hope you've all had a lovely end to January! :)

25 Jan 2014

L-R: Bath night, Me and Amy, Amazing Jerk Steak, Amy and her Birthday Cake, Amy's Birthday Cake I made, New Forest Horse, Yummy Mackerel lunch, Homemade Tea Loaf, Me and Ianthe, Tasty Tea, Homemade Tea Cakes.
This week has felt rather busy! Its been full of fun friend times though and ALL of the baking!! The best kind of week in my eyes. This week has also gone supremely fast! I can't believe today is a month since Christmas, right about now I'm sure I was in a food coma trying to recover on the sofa. Today however, I'm watching the appalling weather outside and dreading the fact that I have to go out in it tonight! :/

My three highlights this week are:

1. Last weekend, myself and a friend went to stay with our best friend Amy in Southampton. We did a lot of drinking, and a lot of eating...but it was really nice to get away and see her. We also drove to the New Forest and got to stroke loads of ponies and horses which was super fun! I've loved horses ever since I was a child, so seeing wild horses was wayyy too exciting for me!

2. This week I spent a lovely few days baking with Craig. We made Tea Cakes for the first time, which was a challenge but was so worth it. They tasted amazing, and definitely better than shop bought!

3. Finally, just a little thing. But on Tuesday night, I decided to use up my last Christmas bath bomb from Lush. It was the Golden Wonder, which gave off a beautiful scent and made my skin feel amazingly soft. I really enjoyed relaxing and treating myself. Sometimes you need to give yourself a pamper I think!

L-R: Lunch with Grandad, Viennese Whirls for Amy, Hannah and Me, Celebratory Wine, Prawn Salad lunch, Laptop time, Post Flat viewing coffee, homemade Guacamole
From the pictures above this week seems to have revolved around food! Its been quite a busy week, hence why I don't have many photos but full of quite exciting things! My highlights this week are:

1. The biggest news of my week came on Monday when myself, my boyfriend and two of our best friends Joe and Will put in an offer on a flat which was accepted!! Its a beautiful flat, in a really great location and I can't WAIT to be living with the boys again. I'm actually moving in later than the boys, but a few months down the line I'm sure I'll update you again once I've moved! YAY!

2. Second is seeing one of my best friends from University on Saturday for a 'sensory music experience'. Hannah had free tickets to a really interesting event, where a string quartet played Debussy's string quartet in G Minor whilst we were blindfolded (sounds creepy but I promise it wasn't!) and experienced different touches, tastes and smells. As we were blindfolded our other senses were extremely heightened and the music felt really powerful. It was a great event and the copious amounts of free wine after didn't hurt!

3. Finally, I've spent quite a bit of time with my Grandad this week whilst my Nan has been in hospital. We watched the snooker, Pointless and ate sandwiches cut into little squares which reminded me of when I was little. Its times like this that I realise how lucky I am to still have my grandparents in my life. Especially such witty and funny ones at that!

11 Jan 2014

Lunch at Yo Sushi!, Chocolate Frog, Blogging, Craig at Flat Iron, Hogwarts!, Yummy dinner at Flat Iron, Turkey Moussaka for dinner, Applying for Great British Bake Off, The Light Princess, New hair styles, Harry Potter Studios.
After two weeks away, I'm back with the 8th installment of my Weekly Highlights. The Christmas/New Years period was a busy one for me, so this post got a little left behind! This week however I've had a magical day out, seen a brilliant new musical and had a lottt of yummy food! My three highlights are:

1. Last Sunday me and my family went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour.I'm going to do a full post on this tomorrow, but in short its an amazing place! To see the intricate detail of the sets is fascinating in itself, but its just so fun to be standing in the Great Hall or the Gryffindor Common Room. If you haven't been already I'd definitely have a look at tickets!

2. On Tuesday my boyfriend decided to hit up the TKTS booth in Leicester Square and get us tickets to see The Light Princess at the National Theatre that evening. I'd heard of the musical but had no idea of the plot line at all. I quite like seeing productions where I don't know the plot though, it ensures I don't form an opinion on it too soon I think! Anyway, The Light Princess was AMAZING. I was in awe of the choreography, set and beautiful songs written by Tori Amos of all people! Its immediately become one of the best productions I've ever seen. Sadly its on a limited run, and ends at the beginning of February, so I urge you to go and book tickets! I already have tickets to see it again at the end of this month with my sister!

3. Finally, a perhaps quite soppy highlight. But this week I've had many late night chats with my mum. Not about anything in particular or even very important things, but long conversations with my mum is something I've always enjoyed and loved. I think having a good relationship with your parents, and for me my mum in general is really important.

What've been your highlights of the week? :)

L-R: Wrapped presents, Christmassy nails, baking for Christmas, shameless selfie, Pudding at Jamies Italian, my sisters present, Jamies Italian yummy wine, Craig's present, my hamper from Craig :), Lasagne at Jamies Italian, missed packages :(.
This week, like the run-up to Christmas has flown by. Its been full of last minute purchases, missed packages and Christmassy nails. I also finally got my hair re-ombred, but I completely forgot to take a picture and only realised now! Fail! I also realised that I don't take enough pictures in general of my week, and especially of people I spend the week with! Can that be a New Years Resolution?

My three highlights this week are:

1. Christmas shopping with the boy on Monday at Westfield was a lovely day, topped off nicely with lunch at Jamie's Italian. Yum yum for my tum. I love our chats over food, sometimes I think its the only time we're not distracted by our phones and actually give eachother our full attention. Well. 80% of my attention, I'm a foodie at heart so that definitely deserves attention.

2. Wrapping Christmas presents is something I really enjoy. I love elaborately decorating them and making them look pretty. Especially as they look so lovely sat under the tree. :)

3. Finally, exchanging Christmas presents with the boy is always a delightful affair. :) Christmas music playing, wine in hand and a Yorkshire hamper from Craig was a delightful surprise!

I can't believe by the time I write this post next week Christmas will be over! :(

Yummy Sausage and Mash made by me, My friend Joe and his super cute dog Milly, Christmas Jumper day!, Wholefoods trolley, Christmas at Kew Gardens display, Advent calender from my boyfriends Grandma, Lunch at Cha Cha Moon with the boy, Super weird Salted Lemon Sprite - yuk!, Christmas Tree, Craig crafting!, Super cosy Primark leggings.
This week was full of hearty food, Christmas decorations and cosy nights in. Christmas panic has officially set in. Making all my presents seemed like such a great idea, but now I'm just stressed that I won't have enough time! Ahh! Maybe I'll have a Christmas miracle?? Fingers crossed anyway!

My three highlights of this week are:

1. Putting up the Christmas tree!! I love making the house look festive, it makes me feel so cosy! My job is always to decorate the tree, which means I get to put all my favourite baubles at the front! ;) I can't wait to start putting presents under the tree now, its looking a little bare at the moment!

2. Can a highlight be wooly christmas leggings?? I am aware quite how pathetic that sounds, but seriously. Get yourself down to Primark and buy a pair of their christmassy pj leggings and you'll understand my love. They are the cosiest, comfiest things ever and if I could leave the house in them without fear of public ridicule I totally would!! haha :)

3. Finally, another odd one! But shopping in Whole Foods with my boyfriend! We decided to buy a super yummy dinner and obviously went to Wholefoods. We literally love it there, and walk around pretending we're back in New York...haha. We bought super tasty pies, brocolli and potato to make mash and a bottle of red. Ahh yeah. :)

So that's my week! How's your been?

7 Dec 2013

L-R: FOTD before the Gig, Charlotte and I in Camden, Meeting the BearandHare again!, Liam Fray from The Courteeners, Carnaby Street, Outside Shepherds Bush Empire, Yummy accordion potatoes for dinner, At the gig, West Side Story programme, Sneaky changing room selfie, Christmas hats!
As I type this I'm watching Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets on TV with the twinkling Christmas Tree lights on the go in the corner. I must say I'm feeling thoroughly snug and festive. :) The first week of December has been a good one for me, with the arrival of one my very best friends Charlotte for a few days and the opening of my awesome advent calender! The only downside is that I seem to have gotten a sore throat. :( Here are my highlights of the week!

1. I met Charlotte back in 2011 in Heathrow Airport. How veryyy romantic you might say, ;). We were off on a journey to work in America for the summer and have been the best of friends ever since! We always have theee best time when we're together and this visit was no exception! Shopping and cinema dates with us are a given. But this time we also went to see The Courteeners at the Shepherds Bush Empire! It was my Christmas present from Charlotte, and it was such an amazing night! The band were amazing and frontman Liam was every bit as handsome in real life! The only downside was some eejit letting off a flare mid gig, resulting in choking red smoke surrounding us! My hair did notttt smell great after that!!

2. Making Christmas presents is one of my favourites things to do and this week I finally started putting together a Recipe book I'm making for my boyfriend. I'm soo happy with how its turning out and I really can't wait to give it to him now! There's something really satisfying in giving a present that you've spent hours putting together.

3. Finally, last night I went to see a Sixth-Form performance of West Side Story at a school that my boyfriends brother works at. I'd never seen such a lavish school production before, and I was so impressed with some of the students. It really brought back so many good memories of performing in school when I was younger too though, and I ended up feeling like a proud parent by the end! haha

I hope you've all had a great week! What've your highlights been? :)

Weekly Highlights. #4

30 Nov 2013

L-R: Homemade Victoria Sponge, Breakfast Burritos with the boys, Winter Wonderland funfair rides, 100 followers milestone, Meeting the Bear and Hare, Hummingbird Bakery treat, SprinkleofGlitter's words about my blog, Churros!, Winter Wonderland, the best friend in a Santa Hat, Homemade Anzac Biscuits.
Another week, another Weekly Highlights! :) With the opening of Winter Wonderland and the one month countdown to Christmas officially begun I've been getting increasingly festive this week. I also hit a blog milestone and had some very lovely words written about me in Sprinkle of Glitters Amazing Advertisers post which warmed my heart. Here's my three highlights:

1. Hitting 100 followers last weekend was ridiculously exciting for me!! I probably annoyed my boyfriend with my constant follower count updates. But, I'd like to say a massive thank you to all my old and new subscribers! It honestly means a lot that you've all stuck with me. :)

2. On Thursday I had one of the best job interviews I've had in a long while, and its filled me with hope that the new year will bring good things for me career wise. Since graduating Uni I've struggled with finding permanent roles so I'm really hopeful for the year to come.

3. Finally, I met up with my best friend on Friday for a fun festive day! She lives in Southampton now so I don't get to see her as much as I'd like, so I was really excited for our day together! We did a spot of Christmas shopping, had Christmas panini's and even met the Bear and the Hare in John Lewis. Highlight right there alone!! :)

I hope you've all had a wonderful week too! :)

Weekly Highlights. #3

23 Nov 2013

L-R: Costa Snowman Coffee, Homemade Chocolate Tart for a dinner party, Homemade Advent Calenders, Happy with Mulled Wine, Crafting fun with my sister Katie, Christmas Tree crumpets, Katie and a handmade Robin bauble, Bens Cookies treat, Covent Garden looking festive, Crafting with Katie, Lunch at Le Pain.
To sum up the last week in one word? Festive! I spent a Christmas crafting weekend with my sister, had my first mulled wine and ate a Christmas tree shaped crumpet. Christmas is officially here and I couldn't be happier! But here are my three highlights:

1. My sister may only live around a 25minute drive away but spending quality time together can sometimes be few and far between. So last weekend I packed up a bag and spent a long weekend crafting for Christmas, eating far too many mince pies and watching copious Christmas films with her. Christmas jumpers were well and truly on and it was lovely. :)

2. On Thursday I met up with one of my best friends from University, Hannah. We hadn't seen each other since we went to Bestival together back in September so it was really great to catch up. We had Christmas Coffee and bought amazingly cosy scarfs. An evening well spent I say!

3. Finally, my last highlight is coming home from my sisters to find that my mum had been doing some Christmas 'crafting' of her own. She had made me and my sister giant advent calenders and filled it ready with different treats. It was such a lovely gesture and I've since found out that she began it back in September! Me and my sister are lucky daughters! :)

So that's been my week, how've your weeks been?
